This massive nuclear shelter, spanning 6,500 square meters, was designed to protect Tito and his associates in the event of nuclear war. With a local guide, you will uncover the fascinating history of this facility, constructed over 26 years at an astounding cost of $4.6 billion. You will see its operational air conditioning system, power generator, functional toilets, freshwater cisterns, and many other unique features. The tour also highlights its modern transformation into an art gallery, showcasing creative works from artists worldwide. After exploring Tito’s Bunker, the tour continues to Konjic’s city center, where you will visit the historic Old Bridge, a stunning landmark originally built in 1682 and reconstructed in 2009. There will also be free time to enjoy coffee or lunch in this picturesque town.

Departure from Sarajevo You depart from Sarajevo in the morning and drive south through beautiful mountain scenery. During the drive, your guide explains Yugoslav history and context of the Cold War period. Arrival at Tito’s Bunker (ARK D-0) You arrive at the secret nuclear bunker built during Yugoslavia time. Inside, you explore rooms, corridors, and learn why this place was top secret for decades. Secrets of the Yugoslav Era During the visit, you hear stories about President Tito, Yugoslav leadership, and plans in case of nuclear attack. You understand how the bunker functioned and who was allowed inside. Exploring Konjic Town & Old Bridge You visit Konjic town and see the old Ottoman stone bridge over the Neretva River. You walk through the town and learn about its history and importance as trade center. Coffee or Lunch by the Neretva River You have free time for coffee or lunch next to the river. You enjoy relaxed atmosphere and views of green Neretva water. Return to Sarajevo In the afternoon, you drive back to Sarajevo.
