What your day looks like

If you want to explore the capital of Bosnia - Sarajevo and the beutiful nature our city offers this tour would be perfect for you. We would start the tour from your hotel/apartment and after panorama of Sarajevo and stories related to history of our city and Winter Olympic Games that Sarajevo hosted in 1984 and, Sarajevo guide will take you to beautiful mountains. First one is Mountain Bjelasnica. It is the highest part of Dinaric Mountains and is also best ski center in Bosnia and Herzegovina today. Alpine skiing disciplines of the Olympic Games were held on this mountain. In a beautiful mountain house, we can enjoy hot tea. After Bjelasnica Olympic mountains tour in Sarajevo will continue to Mountain Igman. On this mountain competition held in Nordic skiing, biathlon and leaps. You can see jumping slopes still standing. After enjoying our two Olympic mountains, we continue to nature monument – Spring of River Bosna. Over there you can enjoy beautiful landscape, walk and take some great pictures. At the end of the tour, we would drop you off at your hotel.

Detailed Itinerary

The journey, in full

Departure from Sarajevo You depart from Sarajevo in the morning and drive towards the Olympic mountains. During the drive, your guide explains Sarajevo Winter Olympics and importance of these mountains for the city. 1st Stop: Trebević Mountain – Olympic Bobsleigh Track On Trebević, you visit the abandoned Olympic bobsleigh track from 1984 Winter Olympics. You walk along the track and learn how it was used during the Games and later during the war. 2nd Stop: Bjelašnica Mountain – Alpine Skiing Center Bjelašnica was the main alpine skiing center during the Olympics. You enjoy mountain views and hear about extreme weather conditions and life on one of the highest Olympic mountains. 3rd Stop: Igman Mountain – Nordic Skiing and Ski Jumps Igman hosted Nordic skiing and ski jumping competitions in 1984. You visit Olympic facilities and learn about both sports history and war events that happened here. 4th Stop: Spring of River Bosna – Nature at Its Finest At Vrelo Bosne, you relax in a green park with crystal clear springs and wooden bridges. You enjoy easy walk and calm atmosphere at the source of the Bosna River. Return to Sarajevo In the afternoon, you return back to Sarajevo. You finish the tour with better understanding of Olympic heritage, nature, and recent history of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
