From Sarajevo: Lukomir Hiking Tour
What your day looks like
On this unforgettable tour, we will explore Lukomir Village, a unique, isolated village nestled in the stunning Rakitnica Canyon. The village, which is a remnant of the semi-nomadic tribes from Podveležje in Herzegovina, offers plenty of fascinating history and breathtaking views. It is only accessible on foot or by skis during the winter months, as it is cut off by snow from December to April. Today, the village is home to traditional stone houses with cherry-wood roof tiles, and a new lodge is available for guests looking to enjoy hiking and the serene mountain surroundings. The hiking along the Rakitnica Canyon ridge offers magnificent views. From Lukomir’s edge, located almost 1,500 meters above sea level, you will be able to marvel at the canyon and the nearby Obalj and Visočica Mountains, as well as Igman, the Olympic Mountain.
