The experience, in brief
- Explore the cave's first chamber, a.k.a. the "dressing room"
- Learn about the geological history of Bonaire
- Option to explore a third chamber, but getting there will be only for the bravest
- Swim/snorkel through the second chamber: Bonaire's most beautiful swimming pool
The journey, in full
Dry cave After we meet each other at the agreed location we will hop in the car and drive to the first cave, a dry cave with plenty of beautiful cave formations. In this cave, you will learn about the geological history of Bonaire and how the caves and the formations within have developed. Wet cave After we learn all about the caves during our exploration in the dry cave, we will jump back into the car and head to the next location. Once we arrive at the destination, we will grab our bags with snorkel masks, towels,s and dry clothes/swimsuits and head toward the entrance. The first part of this cave is a little more adventurous; we will have to do a short climb down to get into the cave. The guide will give you detailed instructions on how to climb down in a safe way and provide you with gear to make it as safe and easy as possible once down into the cave's first chamber, a.k.a. the "dressing room", we will get ready to enter the water and leave our dry clothes behind for a while. From this point on we will swim/snorkel through the second chamber: Bonaire's most beautiful swimming pool. At the end of the chamber you will be given an option to explore a third chamber, but getting there will be only for the bravest among us. then we went back to the dressing room to dry ourselves and change back into dry clothes. Optional stops Depending on how long we took in the 2 caves, your guide might offer to go and see 1 or 2 other sites that have interesting cave-related stories. This is only if there is enough time left for the tour!
