My clients absolutely loved this experience! They both shared their thoughts. One of the most special experiences was spending time with a Maya family, harvesting ingredients from the plants and fruit trees around their home, preparing a meal together, and learning about their traditions and connection to the land. It is a memory I will treasure forever. The Living Maya Experience was rich in culture and natural foods. It was a memorable experience. The Mayan family truly embraced us. Rosie and I participated in making hearts of palm from the Jippi Jappa palm tree and tortillas from corn for lunch. We tasted cacao directly from the pod. We grinded roasted cocoa beans into a paste. They used the paste to make fresh chocolate candy and a chocolate drink. We also squeezed sugar cane!
