What your day looks like
The whole island of Barbados is a treasure. From its formation to its history, culture, cuisine & craft every bit of it is worthy of being called a treasure. Where else can you find stories of cannibals, pirates, black widows, presidents & witchcraft? There may be a few but I assure you none like Barbados. There are a handful of places that for some stand out more than others and in this tour we will share them with you. On this tour, you will visit Harrison's Cave a limestone cave that is called the 8th wonder of the world. At the cave, you will board electric trams and travel through the winding tunnels viewing majestic caverns and the stalactites and stalagmites which have been growing in them for many centuries. Another special feature of the caves is their streams, waterfalls, and pools. Harrison's cave is guaranteed to be an experience of a lifetime. A visit to Barbados will not be complete without a stop at Bathsheba on the East Coast, famous for its breathtaking beauty and pounding surf. Our route then takes us past Morgan Lewis Windmill and Cherry Tree Hill. The windmill is of the top 100 endangered historical sites in the world the Windmill is also one of only 2 windmills of this type left standing in the Caribbean. Then we make our way up to Cherry Tree Hill for its spectacular views and onto St Nicholas Abbey. St Nicholas Abbey can be correctly categorized as a historical treasure of Barbados. This Sugar Plantation Great house is a 17th century Jacobean Mansion one of only three on this side of the world. There is also an on-site Rum Distillery and a working steam engine that crushes the cane during harvest season.

Harrison's Cave: The spectacular Harrison's Cave in Barbados is geographically located in the center of the island, a natural phenomenon unique to the tropical world. Specially designed transport takes you down through the underground tunnels to a sight so beautiful, that few can compare. In the specially lighted caverns at Harrison's Cave, view the majestic stalactites and stalagmites which have been growing from the floors and ceilings for many centuries. Cascading through the caves, the crystal blue waters form magnificent pools and waterfalls, filling the senses with sights and sounds of such pure wonder. Bathsheba: Bathsheba is located on the Eastern coastline of Barbados. It is said that this area was named after the wife of King David whose name was “Bathsheba”. Legend has it that she bathed in milk to keep her skin beautiful and soft, and the rolling surf waters of Bathsheba’s “Soup Bowl” resembled Bathsheba’s bath. The area is popular with surfers. It is a popular area for locals and visitors alike and is dotted with several seaside cottages. Morgan Lewis Windmill: The Morgan Lewis Sugar Mill was built in 1727 it is one of the many Barbadian windmills once used to produce sugar, and one of the two last functioning sugar windmills in the world. Stop for a tasty Barbados Lunch The Morgan Lewis Mill ceased grinding sugarcane for commercial purposes in 1947 and was subsequently given to the Barbados National Trust. Cherry Tree Hill: Cherry Tree Hill is eight hundred and fifty (850) ft above sea level and is a part of the St. Nicholas Abbey plantation. Actually due to the size of the St. Nicholas Abbey property, Cherry Tree Hill actually borders, St.Peter and St. Andrew. Many years ago, the drive on either side to get to it was flanked by cherry trees, thus the reason for its name; however these were replaced with mahogany trees which now line the road. The trees were planted in celebration of the signing of The Treaty of Paris in 1763 St Nicholas Abbey: St Nicholas Abbey is located in Saint Peter, Barbados, and is a plantation house, museum, and rum distillery Colonel Benjamin Berringer built the house in 1658. This house is one of only three genuine Jacobean mansions in the Western Hemisphere. It's similar to the English Jacobean-era manor houses of the first half of the seventeenth century, the period between the Tudor and Georgian styles, beginning in the reign of James I.

Your tour is not confirmed until your accommodation details are provided. Because we are unaware of where these pick-ups will be at the time of your booking, we will give you a wide window of time for your pick-up. On the afternoon before your tour, we will contact you by email to provide you with a more accurate pick-up time within the window provided to you at this time. YOUR PICK-UP WINDOW IS: 8:00-10am Please note you will be contacted the day before your tour with you exact pick up time. If you are not contacted please call 246 231-2932 to reconfirm your pick up time as times can sometimes change due to pick up schedules for the day. Please note the following: It is vital to be on time for your tour, please be ready and waiting in the lobby of your hotel. Our guides can only wait a maximum of 5 minutes for you if you are late. If you have not already done so please provide us with your room number, if you have not yet checked in to your resort please email us at reservations@barbadostoursandexcursions.com after you have and provide the number. This will make your pick up process run efficiently. If you are not staying at a hotel please provide the location pin and a contact number that you can be reached at during your stay. Our guides can contact you on whatsapp so if you have a whatsapp number that is best. As your tour includes Harrisons Cave it is imperative that you visit their website and complete their waiver before the day of the tour. If you do not do this you will not be able to enter the cave. The wait time can be up to 1 hour depending on the option you have booked. The stop at St Nicholas Abbey will involve customers that will be doing different options at St Nicholas Abbey. Some customers book the train tour, some the house and some the combo tour. If you are only doing the house or the train there will be some wait time involved until all guest return. It is a very beautiful area and you are welcome to enjoy the surroundings as you wait. If you wish to upgrade your tour to the combo tour the cost will be US$30 per person, please let us know by email and we will reach out to the attraction requesting an upgrade. Please note this is often not available on the same day hence why we advise that at booking the desired option should be selected and we advise of the wait time on the booking page. If the upgrade is available, we will confirm this to your guide who will inform you. If it is not available There is a lovely little cafe that you can sit and relax under the great big trees during this time.
