What your day looks like
Semi-Private tour to the Bavarian Mountains and the Salt Mine Berchtesgaden Leaving the city of Salzburg and passing the legendary Untersberg Mountain, we privately cross the border to Germany. Our journey continues through an alpine valley along a Kings Lake mountain creek towards the Obersalzberg. Little is left to be seen the Third Reich except the Eagle’s Nest perched atop its summit. You may catch a glimpse of it as we head up the lower part of the mountain. It is inside this mountain, however, that the real adventure begins: Donning traditional miner’s clothes, you enter the 500 year old mine by train to hear fascinating tales and facts about this underground world. Discover the charm of the magnificently illuminated subterranean landscape. Take the slides down to the salt lake which you will be crossing by boat. After your 1.5 hour underground large group tour we will stop at Berchtesgaden, a picturesque alpine town, where you have the option of tasting some Bavarian specialties.

Our tour guide was fantastic! It was a private tour for my and my boyfriend and then we did the group salt mine tour. I would highly recommend the semi-private Bavarian Mountain tour. We didn't spend a lot of time in the village but our tour guide showed us other sights.

I really leaving less than stellar reviews! But in this case, I must. I notice that the new headline for the tour we took has been updated to reflect what I told them they *should* have promised. As per the photo I've included, the promise originally read Private Bavarian Mountain and Salt Mine Tour. That's what I paid $560 for! It was to be my ONE BIG splurge for our mother daughter trip. A completely private tour. What we got was a 2.5 private tour and a 1.5 hour group tour of about 40 people. Definitely not worth $562 to me. There's no way I would have spent that amount of money if I had known it wasn't going to be a completely private tour. I asked for a partial refund as restitution. This operator offered me a pittance. He has not taken ownership of his erroneous advertising. He showed us some interesting things during the 2.5 hour private tour. But unfortunately, that we didn't get what I was promised, and what I paid for, and the insult of his small recompense has ruined my opinion of this tour.
