The journey, in full
Did you know that Vienna is one of the few cities in Europe where grapes are grown and wine is produced within the city limits? Learn that secret and more on this private Vienna wine tour, as we introduce you to our favorite local wines and uncover a side of the city that tourists rarely discover. First up, enjoy a tasting of two different Austrian white wines, paired with tapas of ham, cheese, and bread. Relax in comfort as you learn about local winemaking traditions while sampling these delicious snacks. Next, we’ll head to Judenplatz, the historic heart of Jewish life in Vienna. Here, savor a tapas-style Viennese lunch at a local restaurant, featuring Austrian classics like wiener schnitzel, butter schnitzel, and goulash (vegetarian options are available), all paired with three different red and white Austrian wines. One of the highlights of our tour awaits at a renowned wine bar in the iconic Naschmarkt. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to taste the crown jewel of Austrian wines: the Grüner Veltliner Federspiel from the Wachau Valley. This crisp, high-quality white wine is paired with a selection of succulent roast beef, ham, and pork belly, creating a perfect harmony of flavours. No Vienna food and wine tour would be complete without something sweet. We’ll conclude our journey at Vollpension, a heartwarming coffeehouse with a mission to support senior citizens by providing them with meaningful employment. As you relax in its charming atmosphere, enjoy a spread of delicious homemade pastries alongside a glass of premium Austrian sweet wine. Throughout the tour, you’ll travel through Vienna using the city’s efficient public transport system. Either way, you’ll gain insight into the lesser-known neighbourhoods and hidden corners of Vienna, making this experience far more than just a wine tour – it’s a cultural deep dive into the city’s soul.
