Explore the scenic Wachau Valley on this private wine journey, starting with a comfortable drive through Austria’s picturesque countryside. Your first stop is a renowned local winery, where you'll taste two exquisite white wines while learning about the region’s unique climate and winemaking traditions. Next, we’ll visit a family-owned vineyard set against the beautiful Danube River, where you’ll enjoy a gourmet lunch featuring Austrian favorites like roasted meats, fresh salads, and warm bread, all perfectly paired with carefully selected red and white wines. After lunch, we’ll head to a charming village where you’ll stroll through historic streets before tasting more wines at a hidden gem of a wine shop known for showcasing regional varietals. The day culminates with a visit to a cozy café overlooking the valley, where you’ll indulge in homemade desserts paired with a glass of sweet wine, celebrating Wachau’s rich culinary and winemaking heritage.

What to Bring
Child policy: All guests participating in this experience must be 18+ years of age. Weather: Our tours run rain or shine, so please dress accordingly! Bring an umbrella or raincoat with you if it’s raining. In winter months, temperatures can dip quite low, so dress warmly. But this is also your tour, so if you’re too uncomfortable along the way, just let your guide know — we can always adjust the itinerary and pop into a nearby café to warm up. Mobility issues: This trip involves a fair amount of walking, however, we’re always happy to accommodate. Let us know in advance if you have any mobility issues, and we can adjust the itinerary to suit your needs. What’s included: Your tour price includes all food and drink tastings, as well as a tip for the restaurant staff on your behalf.
Restrictions
We are happy to accommodate vegetarians and vegans on all our tours. Unfortunately, gluten allergies are a bit more difficult to accommodate, especially on our pastry tour. Please contact us in advance and we can let you know what options are available. While traditional Austrian cuisine has become lighter over the years, we still rely on milk and butter.
Meeting & Pickup
We offer pickup at your accommodation in central Vienna. If you are arriving by cruise ship, your guide will meet you directly at the cruise port at the scheduled start time and will return you to the cruise port at the end of the shore excursion.
