The Experience

What your day looks like

Budapest Often dubbed the ‘Paris of the East’, this 2000-year-old city’s long history has left it rich in historic buildings. The most noticeable is Castle Hill, where the Royal Palace, Sándor Palace, and high-Gothic Matthias Church dominate the skyline, offering beautiful architecture and unparalleled views of the city. Budapest’s neo-Gothic Parliament, the largest building in Hungary, allows visitors to book a tour of the interior in advance. Once inside, visitors can ogle at the opulent decor, such as a staircase decorated with 25 kg of gold. Saint Stephen's Basilica, has the Holy Right Hand of the founder of Hungary, King Saint Stephen, on display. No visit to Budapest is complete without a stop at The New York Cafe, considered ‘the most beautiful cafe in the world’, where guests can enjoy a coffee or upscale meal in a breathtaking Rococo hall. Pannonhalma Archabbey The abbey is perched on a hill and can be seen from many miles away and was selected by Pope John Paul II as a site to visit in 1996. There is plenty to see and discover at the abbey which is still in use today, employing 50 monks and containing a boarding school for Benedictine monks. Often regarded as the cradle of Christianity in Hungary, the impressive library contains 300 ancient prints and over 400,000 books plus the oldest Hungarian language document dating back to 1055. Besides the historic library, visitors will want to explore the thirteenth-century basilica and crypt, the cloisters and the Baroque refectory. When you’ve finished on the inside then take a stroll around the large abbey grounds that feature an incredible arboretum and a botanical garden as well as the winery and the restaurant that provides million-dollar views of the surroundings. *Optional third party activities such as tours or attraction fees are not included in the price. We can’t guarantee that every attraction will be open for your trip, so we recommend checking the opening hours in advance. *Please note that this experience includes a private driver but it does not include a guide and is not a guided tour.
