Our Schoenbrunn Palace Concerts have been an integral part of the Viennese world of music and culture since 1997. At the historic Orangery of Schoenbrunn Palace, the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra and the Schoenbrunn Palace Ensemble alternate to perform the most beautiful pieces of music ever written by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss. The program changes daily. The first part of the concert features selected overtures, arias, and duets by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart such as “The Marriage of Figaro,” “The Magic Flute” and “Don Giovanni”. After the intermission, let the orchestra delight you with the most memorable operetta arias, waltzes, and polkas by Johann Strauss, the “king of waltz,” including “The Bat,” “The Gipsy King,” the “Blue Danube Waltz” and the “Radetzky March.” Two opera singers, a soprano and a baritone will round out the evening. The concert location Schoenbrunn Palace Orangery provides an extraordinary setting for events that feature classical music. It was frequently used as the perfect location for sumptuous festivities with musical performances back in the times of the Habsburg dynasty. The musical duel between Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri took place during one of these concerts. It was to remain a unique incident in the history of music.

The journey, in full
Before 6:15 p.m: Individual guests are requested to pick up their concert tickets and dinner vouchers at our office at the Orangery. 6:30 PM Dinner in a selected restaurant. 8:30 PM Concert starts in the Orangery Schönbrunn. (admission from 8:00 PM) Approx. 10:15 PM Concert end. On selected days, concerts may take place in the Great Gallery or the White Gold Room located inside Schoenbrunn Palace or in other concert halls in Vienna. We will be happy to send you the detailed concert plan upon request! The three-course dinner takes place in a traditional Austrian restaurant within walking distance of the Palace. We are serving semolina dumpling soup, followed by roast beef with braised potatoes on the side and for dessert there would be apple strudel. We are happy to offer a vegetarian menu on prior request. If you are a VIP ticket holder, you will enjoy priority access ("skip the line") at both the concert bar and the entrance to the concert hall, a refreshing welcome drink before the concert, seats in the front rows, free coat check, an exclusive VIP program booklet, and a glass of sparkling wine.

Overall the dining experience was bland and not at the castle but at a restaurant nearby. The menu is set, so if you are vegetarian or have special diet, this will not work for you. The concert was held in the Palace, but near the front in a very plain room. Concert was good, opera singers were good as well. Overall, not what I expected from the description.
