Avoid the crowds and get off the beaten path on our shared-group McLaren Vale wine tour with a difference. Our super small groups are limited to 6 six guests, and the boutique wineries are chosen to showcase the variety of premium wines available across the region. Reach out to us in advance if there is somewhere you really must visit, we will try our best to fit it into the day for you. We can visit the big names through to the truly boutique producers whose passion is to create quality McLaren Vale wines. With a focus on premium quality wineries, our McLaren Vale wine tours will allow you to taste the best of the region and help you to discover those hidden gems. Quite possibly our favourite region to visit, the Vale has something for everybody! One of the most diverse wine growing regions in the world, McLaren Vale is great for easy drinking reds, Mediterranean whites, and you must try their world-class Grenache! ***Please note that the below is a sample itinerary. The wineries visited change daily but is always focussed around premium, smaller, family-owned wineries.*** 1. Off to McLaren Vale: Meet your host at your Adelaide accommodation around 9:15am (McLaren Vale pickup around 10 am), along with any other guests who may be joining you. - Your journey takes you south along the coast, around 45 minutes to the McLaren Vale wine region. Get to know your group and your guide as they find out what you’d all like to experience on tour. 2. Oliver's Taranga: Relaxing in the fresh country air with views across the vineyards at Oliver’s Taranga. You’ll be guided through a tasting of sustainably grown wines from their family estate. On the forefront of planting new varieties in the region, you may be lucky enough to try a Mencia, a Vermentino, or maybe a Sagrantino alongside their more traditional varieties. 3. Pannell Enoteca: Sourcing fruit from across both the McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills wine regions, Pannell has a good range of crisp whites, medium-bodied reds, and heavy wines to appease a range of tastes. - Having won both the Jimmy Watson (Australia’s most coveted wine award) and the McLaren Vale Bushing King (The Vale’s equivalent) many times, you know you’re in good hands. 4. Delicious restaurant Lunch: The South Australian wine regions are full of fresh, locally grown produce that makes its way directly into the restaurants of the regions. Enjoy a delicious seasonally-inspired restaurant lunch at one of our quality restaurant partners, who source their fresh produce from local farms where possible. Enjoy a glass of local wine or beer with your seasonal lunch as the perfect accompaniment. All diets catered for. 5. Samuel’s Gorge Wines: Perched on a hillside overlooking the Onkapararinga Gorge is this truly hidden gem boutique winery. Relax on the lawns in the afternoon sun with a view over the National Park, or take up a spot in their warmly welcoming tasting room. You’ll be guided through their range of forward-thinking, masterfully created wines Their friendly and relaxed tasting experience is the perfect way to end your McLaren Vale wine tour before heading back to Adelaide for around 5:00pm.
