Detailed Itinerary
The journey, in full
On this three hour, laid back walking tour, you'll discover some of the iconic landmarks of Surry Hills, learn of immigration waves following the gold rush and Second World War, and sample some of the sweet flavors brought to the region all those years ago. You'll wander by popular terrace-style housing on tree-lined side streets, enjoy colorful dishes which boast influences from Vietnamese, Thai, and Greek cuisines. You'll taste creamy ginger Brulee, and finish with a refreshing ginger twist in a quaint local venue. And of course like all our tours, there is our Secret Dish, which you can only find out about on the tour.

Meeting & Pickup
The meeting spot is at the intersection of Oxford Street, Wentworth Avenue, College Street, and Liverpool Street. Tour Endpoint: The tour ends at the corner of Bourke Street and Arthur Street, Surry Hills. Your guide can help direct you to a nearby bus, or in the direction of Oxford Street (walking distance) from here.

Online description needs updated. We had a really fun time trying different foods. I am still giving this a 5 star review but I do think the description online should be updated. We did not get to meet the butcher - we met his daughter instead (and she was awesome!) but we were disappointed to not meet her father. We did upgrade to the drink package and did get two drinks but again, online it says "Australian orange wine" and we did get wine but it wasn't orange wine. It was champagne - which was delicious but not what we expected. The description online says 7 stops but we only had 6. My biggest complaint is that is says "maximum 10 guests" but instead we had 12. We booked this tour partially because of the guaranteed small group. While I know only 2 more people isn't a huge deal, we were again expecting something different based on the description online. The tour ran overtime which was an issue for others on our tour because they had to get back to their cruise ship. We enjoyed the food but they need to update their description online. We did not get everything we expected and if the food was anything less, I would not be leaving 5 stars.
