Overland Corner Hotel
What your day looks like
The landscape will change from beautiful rolling hills to flat red country as we fly northeast to the Historic Overland Corner Hotel. Thousands and thousands of hectares of farming country! As we get closer to Overland Corner you will start to see the vegetation swamp lands of the Murray River. Overland Corner was originally a camping ground for local aboriginal people and drovers, and over time developed as a point where timber was supplied to fuel the paddle steamers taking prospectors up the Murray River. The first hotelkeeper's license for the Overland Corner Hotel was granted to William Brand on 13 March 1860. The Hotel is the oldest building in the Riverland and is one of South Australia’s most haunted buildings. After having a history tour of the pub, relax and enjoy a drink or two from the largest selection of Independent and Local Craft Beer / Spirits / Wine in the Riverland and discover why this little pub is a multiple Award-Winning Pub Restaurant with la focus on Local Produce. After your hauntingly amazing time with the locals, we start our return journey to the Barossa Valley, heading west along the Murray River for a short time before “heading for the hills!” towards Truro and Nuriootpa. Tracking south over the Valley we will see many beautiful wineries towns and the ever-changing landscape before arriving back in the Hoffnungsthal Valley.
