The journey, in full
I. 9:00 a.m. — 9:45 a.m. | Pick-up at your accommodation in San Martín de los Andes and transfer to Lago Hermoso Ski Resort (45 min) We will pick you up at your downtown accommodation. The drive to Lanín National Park is a perfect prelude: gentle curves through ñires forests, the glistening ice on the branches, and views that invite you to leave your routine behind and immerse yourself in the silence of the mountains. II. 9:45 a.m. — 10:00 a.m. | Arrival and preparation (15 min) Upon arrival at the winter resort, you will be greeted by the pure, cold air of the mountains. We will hand out your equipment—snowshoes and poles—and share some brief instructions to help you feel safe and comfortable walking on the snow. III. 10:00 — 11:30 | Snowshoe trek (90 min) We begin our guided hike along snow-covered trails. You will cross clearings where sunlight filters through the treetops, stop at natural viewpoints, and listen to the soft crunch of snow under your feet. The guide will share stories and secrets of the winter forest as you let yourself be carried away by the peaceful rhythm of the hike. IV. 11:30 a.m. — 12:00 p.m. | Break at the shelter (30 min) We enter a warm shelter to warm our hands by the fire. You can have a hot drink, chat with your fellow hikers, or simply watch the snowflakes fall slowly behind the glass. V. 12:00 p.m. — 12:45 p.m. | Return to San Martín de los Andes (45 min) We begin the return journey, carrying with us memories of the white forest and the echo of Patagonian silence. Thermal clothing and waterproof footwear Tips: Tips are not included. If you want to thank the guide, driver, or lodge staff, tips are always welcome.
What to Bring
Warm, waterproof clothing in layers: Dress in layers to adapt to temperature changes. The important thing is to keep your body dry and warm while walking in the snow. Waterproof hiking boots: Avoid regular sneakers: hiking boots or waterproof footwear with good grip are ideal for moving safely on snow. Gloves, hat, and scarf: You will be walking in cold and wet areas. These thermal accessories make the difference between a pleasant outing and an uncomfortable one. Sunglasses and sunscreen: Even when it's cloudy, snow reflects light and can damage your eyes or skin. Protect yourself so you can enjoy yourself without discomfort. Camera or cell phone with a charged battery: You'll want to capture more than one postcard view of this unique landscape. If it snows, a waterproof case is a good idea. Reusable water bottle: You can hydrate at the shelters, but bringing your own bottle is practical for hiking. Extra tip: if you are sensitive to cold, bring an extra pair of socks and a thin blanket for breaks in the shelter. Comfort makes the experience even more enjoyable.
