Our San Martín de los Andes by the Seven Lakes Road tour takes you on a journey along one of the best tourist routes in Argentina, known worldwide for the unique beauty in its natural landscapes, lakes, rivers and more. Our full-day tour covers 352km and takes you past the Nahuel Huapi National Park, along the Camino de los Siete Lagos and to San Martín de los Andes, known for its artisanal crafts. We’ll make a stop in Villa la Angostura, admiring the beauty of the serene, crystal-clear lakes along the way. Don’t miss out on this chance to see some of the most incredible scenery Argentina has to offer! We travel the RN 40 to 21km from San Carlos de Bariloche until is connected with the RN 231 and we take towards west. Some stretches of the road skirt the Lake Nahuel Huapi unique, revealing the Cerro Cathedral in the background. After passing Puerto Manzano, Villa La Angostura is crossed, a true mountain village, characterized by its meticulous and clean architecture. A few miles later the 7 lakes road begins, walking the Drafty, Espejo, Escondido, Villarino, Falkner, Hermoso and Machonico lakes. Each attraction has a unique landscape, surrounded by olive and lush forests. Once in San Martin de los Andes, on the shore of Lake Lacar, passengers can explore the city and the main street. We return along the same path, or Junin de los Andes road, according to the state of the roads.

The journey, in full

he trip starts by National Route N°40 where we will cross the bridge over the Limay River, which is a natural border between Río Negro and Neuquén. Crossing the Huemul peninsula and Manzano Port, we will reach Villa La Angostura before we go along the 7 lakes road. For example, one of the most important lakes with glacier origin is Nahuel Huapi lake which covers a surface of 529 km. Villarino lake, surrounded by a coihues forest and mountains, can be seen from top of the road and it joins with Falkner lake. Between 2 mountains at the side of the route, we will observe Machonico lake with its calm dark blue waters Arriving at San Martín de los Andes, we will observe the Lacar Lake. After this incredible tour, we will return to Bariloche hotels by the same road.
