The Experience

What your day looks like

Mount El Plata is one of the best options for a high mountaineering experience in Mendoza – one of the highest mountains in the central Andes and the highest in the “Cordón del Plata” mountain range, which, reaching 20,013ft in altitude, is the most important mountain range in Mendoza. At 6000 meters, it is the ideal mount to begin practicing high altitude mountaineering –  an excellent option for those hoping to achieve their first six-thousand-meter mountain experience in the Andes.  It is also chosen by many mountaineers as an acclimatization ascent before attempting Mount Aconcagua. The beautiful Mount El Plata is located in the high mountain area known as Vallecitos and it is a symbol of Argentina’s mountaineering. Athletes from all over the world choose this mountain because its ascension represents an unforgettable and challenging adventure.
