The Experience

What your day looks like

Cordon del Plata is a sub-range of the Andes, conveniently located along the highway which also takes you to Aconcagua, the giant of the American peaks. The area has gained a lot of popularity in the last 2 decades and many climbers use it as an acclimatization ground for the higher peaks. The easy access, the short distances in between the peaks, and beautiful views have also contributed to Cordon de Plata’s positive reputation. There are lots of peaks within a few days’ walks, most of them are easy scrambles along the normal routes, more experienced climbers also come here for alternative challenging routes. Mount Vallecitos is one of the highest mountains of the Cordon del Plata range and one of the classic expeditions in the area. This mountain is very accessible and is an ideal option for those starting climbs in this height range.
