Vegetarian Cooking Class in Gjirokastër
What your day looks like
Starting from Cerciz Topulli Square, you will meet your host and walk over to one of the oldest neighborhoods in town, “Pazar i Vjeter.” There, we’ll meet Marjeta and her husband. The cooking class will begin with a glass of raki or a soft drink. We’ll cook a vegetarian menu, and under Marjeta’s guidance, you will learn how to make three dishes. The first is called “Qofte Bobollaqe,” followed by the traditional “Qifqis,” found only in Gjirokaster and made mainly of rice, and finally a dessert called “Hasude.” All three dishes are accompanied by a seasonal salad that Marjeta has already prepared for you. After all the cooking, we’ll sit down together to savor your creations. Pair your menu with a complimentary glass of wine, raki, or a soft drink, and enjoy a friendly chat while you eat. Your cooking class will conclude after the meal. At the end, you’ll receive a recipe for everything you’ve prepared so you can recreate it at home anytime. Please inform us in advance of any intolerances or food allergies.
