Next Generation of Global Stewards

Galápagos is the perfect destination for a family adventure for all ages. On a recent voyage, young explorers shared why they loved exploring the region and their favorite memories of their time there—from snorkeling with sea lions and collecting plankton for research to learning about navigation on the open Bridge and paddleboarding in crystalline waters.

A voyage with National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions is a wonderful fit for families—whether you are parents traveling with grade-schoolers, or grandparents bringing the entire crew on a multigenerational adventure. With activities that combine learning and fun and a team of dynamic experts leading the way, every day is full of exciting discoveries.
The National Geographic Explorers-in-Training program is offered in Alaska, Galápagos and Baja California and on select voyages to Iceland & Greenland and Antarctica. Developed in conjunction with National Geographic Education and led by certified field educators, this interactive curriculum connects young travelers ages 7–17 with nature and teaches them to embrace the mindset of a National Geographic Explorer—to discover the world like scientists and tell the stories of their surroundings.
Whether it’s observing whales in Alaska, sketching blue-footed boobies in the Galápagos or cruising past icebergs in Antarctica, this is an opportunity for your family to see the world differently.

"We see more and more multigenerational families traveling with us every year, and our expanded National Geographic Explorers-in-Training program is designed to be an engaging educational experience for our young explorers. It is not your standard 'kids club'—it is a highly acclaimed, age-appropriate expedition program for young travelers." - Natalya Leahy, CEO, Lindblad Expeditions
